You're Not From Here, Are You? #2 at the Black Hart of St. Paul on Wednesday 6/4

Hey!

The first YNFH event went so well at the Black Hart bar last month we’re going to do it again! Come on down to Black Hart next Wednesday at 7pm for a fun conversation with Twin Cities transplants from Kansas City, New Haven*, and Pittsburgh. I’ll be hosting a light-hearted and hopefully humorous discussion of hometowns across North America**. Come on down, meet some new people, and learn something about some places that aren’t in Minnesota.

See you then I hope!

* actually Wallingford

** actually just the Midwest and Northeast

[You're humble host.]

Part of an Excellent Beer History Panel on "One Pint Stand" Podcast

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of being on a panel on beer history as part of a podcast created by my long-time friend, Dan Beaubien. I have known Dan since high school and Boy Scouts -- we also were in a group going to our high school prom together! --  and have been happy to follow his career as a teacher and beer journalist. I was able to give a bit of history about local bars, alongside legendary local beer history author Doug Halverson and brewer Chris German.

The episode is live now. It was fun! Enjoy.

You're Not From Here, Are You? #1 this Wednesday

If you're not doing anything at 7:30 this Wednesday, come on down to the Black Hart Bar and hang out with me as I meet three new friends. It's the first ever episode of You're Not From Here, Are You? a event idea I mentioned a while back.

I'm excited to be having on the stage at The Black Hart of St. Paul with me three folks

  • Mike from Scranton
  • Sawyer from Austin
  • and Grace from St. Louis

They'll all be sharing stories about their home towns, how they ended up in the Twin Cities, and I guarantee it will be fun. Let's learn something new and break down the insular bubble at the same time.

Free and open to all! Hope to see you soon.
